Gratitude
To all my married, engaged and spoken-for friends.
Gratitude*
After a wedding ceremony in Singapore a few years ago, the father of the bride took his new son-in-law aside to give him some advice on how to keep the marriage long and happy.
“You probably love my daughter a lot,” he said to the young man.
“Oh yes!” the young man sighed.
“And you probably think that she is the most wonderful person in the world,” the old man continued.
“She’s sooooo perfect in each and every way,” the young man cooed.
“That’s how it is when you get married,” said the old man. “But after a few years, you will begin to see the flaws in my daughter. When you do begin to notice her faults, I want you to remember this. If she didn’t have those faults to begin with, Son-in-law, she would have married someone much better than you!”
So we should always be grateful for the faults in our partner because if they didn’t have those faults from the start, they would have been able to marry someone much better than us.

Pred par lety v Singapuru si otec nevesty po svatebnim obradu vzal sveho novopeceneho zete stranou, aby mu dal par rad, jak si udrzet dlouhe a stastne manzelstvi.
“Ty zrejme velmi milujes moji dceru,” rekl tomu mlademu muzi.
“Ach ano!” vzdychl mladik.
“A pravdepodobne si myslis, ze je to ten nejbajecnejsi clovek na svete,” pokracoval tchan.
“Ona je proste uuuuzasna po vsech strankach,” vrkal mladik.
“Tak se to zda, kdyz se berete,” odvetil tchan. “Ale po par letech zacnes videt jeji chyby. A az si jich zacnes vsimat, chci, aby sis vzpomnel na tohle. Kdyby ty chyby hned od zacatku nemela, zetacku, byla by si vzala nekoho mnohem lepsiho nez tebe!”
Takze bysme vzdycky meli byt vdecni za nedostatky naseho partnera, protoze kdyby je hned od pocatku nemel, byl by si vzal nekoho mnohem lepsiho nez nas.

Fakt duvod k zamysleni
ma
Sice nejsem zenaty, zasnoubeny ci zadany kamarad, ale plne se s touto povidkou ztotoznuji a neni k ni moc co dodat, snad jen "Nikdo neni dokonaly."
